If you love the vintage look and feel of a bygone age you’ll love many of the pretty characteristics of this older seaside holiday cottage. The owner has decorated the property in keeping with its age and it has a seaside and homely feel. Laura Ashley style furnishings with nautical blue stripes, vintage dining table and a pretty dining area in the kitchen all help to create a style which is in keeping with the history of this cottage.
The cottage is just a short walk from Brighton train station making this a very practical choice if you’re coming by train. The cottage is close to the Laines with its many independent and unique shops, cafes and restaurants. Nightlife is within walking distance as is the beach. A great choice for a family with older children or a group of friends and also very practical for someone who needs to be in the heart of Brighton for work commitments. There are two bedrooms and a stylish bathroom.
Entrance and living room
The cottage is up a fairly steep hill just away from the bustle of the main high street. It is accessed up a few steps. The front door leads into a spacious living area which has two sofas (one is a sofa bed which sleeps one person comfortably) and there is an armchair. A fireplace has a fan heater which looks like a wood burning stove. There is an LCD tv, dvd player and WiFi. A vintage dining table has seating for four, (five can be seated round it if a chair is brought in from the kitchen dining area). There are painted wooden floorboards. Steps lead down from the living room into a utility area where there is a washing machine and freezer. (The steps down to the utility area and the open rise staircase mean that this property would not be suitable for small children, toddlers or babies who are crawling.)
The kitchen has a seating area for four and has everything you need to self cater. The older style units are in keeping with the feel of this cottage.
There are two bedrooms. One has a double bed and the other has lower level twin beds that can be pushed together to create a king. There are vintage style furnishings, accessories and painted brickwork.
The bathroom is very stylish and beautifully fitted but the suite and tiles are still very much in keeping with a Victorian seaside cottage.
