Traditional style house in quiet mews

This is an elegantly and traditionally furnished two bedroom holiday cottage in a gated mews. Located in the very highly regarded Kemp Town area of Brighton, the property is in an excellent location just one road from the seafront. Kemp Town has a village feel with an array of independent shops and great coffee shops and restaurants and yet the property is still not far from the bustle of the city centre. Ideal for a family or an executive here for work; a very comfortable and traditional home from home.

Description

There are two bedrooms. One has a king size bed the other is a twin room.


Furnished in a traditional and tasteful way, this property is very well equipped and the owner has surpassed himself in considering everything you might need to make this a very comfortable home from home! There are games, books, a large flat screen tv with dvd player and Wi-fi. The house is a modern building, built in a traditional style, and is in an exclusive gated mews which has only a few houses.

The ground floor has is an open-plan lounge/diner with a kitchen which is open-plan too, creating a large, sociable place to sit, cook and relax in the evenings after a day’s sightseeing. A small patio at the back affords a great area to just sit and relax with a glass of wine or eat al fresco. The owner has adorned the walls with lots of pictures and the place has the feel of a beautifully loved and cared for, traditional home.

Entrance

The house is in an exclusive development of just a few houses and entry to the front courtyard of the property is by security gate. The entrance hall of the house has an additional downstairs loo. The owner is very considerate and has even left umbrellas and sunglasses in a dresser in the hall, in case you need to borrow them during your stay.

Living Area

A door leads to the kitchen/ dining area/ sitting room. The kitchen is completely fully equipped with everything you need to self cater and has an American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave. There are even recipe books available for you to try out some new dishes!

The dining area has an elegant table which seats four but can be extended if you need more room for your dishes. Patio doors open at the side onto a small courtyard patio at the back of the house which is fully enclosed. This also has a table for four outside and there are more comfortable outside sun loungers in the downstairs cupboard.

The living area is separated from the dining area by an antique sideboard and offers two very comfortable and elegant sofas. The room has been tastefully furnished and lamps and the soft lighting creates a lovely ambiance to curl up and watch the large tv or to sit and read a good book with a glass of wine.

First Floor

On the first floor there are two bedrooms. The master bedroom to the front of the property has a king size bed and large wardrobes. There are chests of drawers and bedside tables, so plenty of room for your belongings. There is also a flat screen tv here as well with HDMI port, it is not connected to receive tv channels.So bring your own DVDs if you have little children who like to watch a DVD in bed or ideal if you have your own Apple TV box and bring it with you. Please note there is not room for a travel cot to be placed in the Master bedroom but there is room in the twin room.

The second bedroom is at the back of the house and has twin beds and a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Ideal for two children to share.

Family Bathroom

The family bathroom is a standard size and has a bath with a shower over it. It is decorated neutrally, as is the rest of the house.

  • All utility costs are included in the price.
  • There is Wi-fi.
  • As with all our properties, smoking is not permitted in the house itself, but you may smoke on the patio.
  • There may be free parking allocated with this property but please enquire and confirm this at the time of booking. The house does have an allocated parking space in the mews, but it would depend on the size of your car so we do need to talk to you and discuss this to avoid disappointment. Whilst you are in Brighton a car is not necessary as everything is close by and within walking distance and there are regular buses and a bus stop nearby too.
  • This house is very close to the East Sussex County Hospital so would suit someone who needs to be close to the hospital.
