Things to do in Brighton During October
Autumn may be here, but October is still an incredibly busy month in Brighton. The main event is the Brighton Comedy festival with venues across the city hosting fantastic comedy. Our favourite big name comedians, and others set to become more well known in the future, will be providing laugh out loud and stomach hurting entertainment at its best - not to be missed!
VW Brighton Breeze, Madeira Drive - Saturday 1st October
The seafront near the Brighton Wheel will be full to the brim with beautifully restored classic VW’s including the ever loved Beatle and camper vans. A great free event for all the family, Madeira Drive takes a slow paced trip back in time with stunning custom cars, stalls and events. The archetypal festival van, VW owners have proudly restored these vintage beauties, kitted out to incredible standards and on display for you to delight over. Well worth a trip down to lust over and fantasise about having one of your own! (Actually, there may be some for sale so be careful!)
London 2 Brighton Land Rover Run, Madeira Drive - Sunday 2nd October
From the classic retro favourite of the beach scene to a Great British work horse of the countryside. The Sunday following on from Breeze sees the equally as cool Land Rover London to Brighton run. With vintage and modern Land Rovers spanning the 65 years of manufacture on display, along with activities and stalls Madeira Drive is alive with the pride of British manufacturing. Another great free event for all the family to enjoy looking around these incredible off roaders.
Brightona 2016, Madeira Drive - Sunday 9th October
Now in its 12th year, this annual motorcycle event is held in aid of charity and organised by local bikers. The event brings thousands of people along to Madeira Drive for this festival of motorcycles. Amazing custom motorcycles, live music across four stages, exhibits, stalls and much more. Whether you era is vintage, country, rock or you simply want to look at the bikes, there is something for everyone.
Art Deco Fair, The Waterfront Hotel - Sunday 9th October
Vintage stall holders come together once again at the Hove Centre to sell original vintage homeware, clothing and jewellery from 1920’s to 1970’s. If you’re looking for that special vintage lamp or mirror to make a room complete, or if dressing vintage is your thing, the Art Deco Fair is the perfect place for a spot of shopping.
Brighton Fashion Week, All Saints Church - 13th to 15th October
Now in its 6th year, Brighton Fashion Week returns and for the first time, it’s completely sustainable. This annual celebration of fashion explores the ethical, future conscious side of fashion and beauty.
Gay Wedding Show, The De Vere Grand Hotel - Sunday 16th October
Brighton is the top spot in the country for civil partnerships and has a huge array of venues and resources in the city to help make your day extra special. This wedding fayre will have everything you could possibly need all under one roof so why not come along and see why Brighton is the perfect city in which to tie the knot.
The Ghost Walk Of The Lanes, The Druids Head - 31st October (Halloween)
Do you believe in ghosts? Come and take a guide tour of Britain’s second most haunted city on the most haunting of nights. Feel the hairs on the back of your neck rise, as you are guided through the most haunted quarter of Brighton in the dark and intertwining old fishing village of the Lanes.
